Antique Swedish Trestle Table

Sweden, 19th Century

The most beautiful example of a Swedish primitive folk table. Crafted from pine in the early 19th century, you can imagine it originally sitting in a Swedish country cabin or chalet, it's neat dimensions sitting elegantly amidst nature. This trestle table displays exemplarily the playful and intricate 'allmoge' (swedish folk) aesthetic. Yellow paint is wearing in places, creating a rustic charm. The legs display a whimsical bow legged shape which feels so fresh and relevant today despite being an antique piece. The patina of the wood is incredibly rich and characterful. It has markings and wear and tear that don't interfere with the stability of the piece but emphasise this is a piece of history, and add to the charm, richness of character and uniqueness. In excellent stable condition with wear and tear consistent with age.
